Statement on the Events in Charlottesville on and around August 12, 2017

The events in Charlottesville this weekend were horrible. As a company, we condemn white supremacy in all its forms – it is directly in conflict with our core values. And we condemn violence as a form of debate.

Many of us are deeply disturbed and hurt by what we saw, and WillowTree is standing by our team members and our community to help us heal. We wish to extend our deepest condolences to the friends and family of Heather Heyer.

We choose to live and work in Charlottesville – it is an incredibly diverse, tolerant and innovative community, which is exactly why it was targeted by white supremacists. We will never be defeated by hatred and terrorism; instead we will only become more unified around our inclusive values and make a great city even greater.

Thank you to everyone who has sent us wonderful notes of concern and support – we have heard from almost every client or partner we have – these thoughts make this difficult time much easier.

Here are some further thoughts by WillowTree Partner Mike Moore from a segment on CNBC and PBS’ Nightly Business Report.

We will work through this together.
