Dynamit (now WillowTree) Clients win Gold, Silver W3 Awards in 10th Annual Competition

Dynamit (now WillowTree) is thrilled to announce clients Balloon Time, Donatos, Whataburger, and WP Glimcher brought home awards from the 2015 W3 Awards. Whataburger won Gold, and Balloon Time, Donatos, and WP GLIMCHER won Silver.

The W3 Awards honors creative excellence on the Web, and recognizes the creative and marketing professionals behind Websites, Web Marketing, Web Video, Mobile Sites/Apps & Social content. The awards are sanctioned and judged by the Academy of Interactive and Visual Arts, an invitation-only body consisting of top-tier professionals from a “Who’s Who” of acclaimed media, advertising, and marketing firms.

This year, over 4,800 entries were submitted, all which greatly impressed the Academy members. Linda Day, director of the IAVA stated, “We were amazed at the caliber and quality of work we received this year from the smallest agencies to the biggest firms worldwide. As the Web continues to expand in new and exciting ways, our winners continue to truly push the envelope of Internet creativity and web design.”

Whataburger — Just Like You Like It

Family-owned and operated and serving fresh, never frozen burgers, Whataburger has been in business for 65 years. After seeing the Charleys website recognized in the 15th annual Webby Awards, Whataburger approached Dynamit for help with redesigning their website.

Whataburger wanted to focus on incorporating their social media following as much as possible, so Dynamit designed the website to leverage their culture and brand with social integration. They built a custom admin for the site, where social media content can be curated and monitored before it’s posted live. The new, robust website also features a strong homepage, careers and community sections, a customizable menu with nutritional facts, and an e-Commerce product shop—the Whatastore™. Dynamit designed the website to have two versions with the same functionality for both desktop and mobile. Whataburger has been extremely happy with the work since the beginning of their relationship, awarding Dynamit “Best Vendor” in 2014 at their internal company awards ceremony.

Balloon Time — Shareable Media & Store Locator

Balloon Time is the first and best-selling portable and recyclable helium kit, manufactured by Worthington Industries. Balloon Time and Dynamit worked together to redesign their website to include easily shareable party ideas with a sophisticated, yet playful theme. Because the product cannot be sold online, the most important feature to improve was the Store Locator. It needed to point users to retailers who sell Balloon Time products, and include both domestic and international cities. Dynamit designed the locator to automatically display stores using geolocation, including the option to search by zip code. Since Balloon Time products are sold internationally, key features of the website were designed to be read in several different languages.

Donatos — Online Ordering Made Simple

Donatos, Midwest pizza chain with approximately 200 locations, asked Dynamit to help make ordering pizza online easier. By designing and developing a new responsive website and online ordering system for desktop and mobile, Dynamit helped Donatos increase their online sales by nearly 40%.

One major component of the new design included the combination of the “menu” and “ordering” features. This gives users the option to find food items by browsing the site or entering text in a search bar. Dynamit designed a realistic environment for food items in order to give visitors a full retail-oriented experience when browsing. Other features Dynamit focused on were implementing geolocation in finding the nearest Donatos, simplifying customization of food products, and a painless checkout experience.

WP GLIMCHER — Upscale Real Estate

WP GLIMCHER is a premier retail real estate investment trust with a portfolio of 121 enclosed regional malls and open-air lifestyle community centers. Dynamit helped to create a beautifully modern, high-end retail experience for their website redesign. With a heavy emphasis on a truly superior brand, the website includes property profiles and the ability to search for available properties, an application and careers section, and an area surrounding investor relations.
